Of 1836 Guitars
1836 Guitars is the longtime dream of Robert ("Rob") Crouch. From a very young age, growing up in Tulsa, OK, Rob picked up his first guitar and has been playing ever since. Rob left his home in Tulsa and moved to Dallas in the late 70's. He married his wife and had two daughters before moving to Tyler in 1998. In his earlier years, Rob played in several bands in the DFW Metroplex area with his business partner, Tom Napper.
Artistry
Rob is a very talented artist and has transitioned his skills from playing to designing and building custom guitars. His artistry and attention to detail starts with procuring gorgeous and exotic woods all the way to detailed hand carvings and finishes. Tom brings another important element to the business with his hand wound pickups.
Vision
